The Australian theme park community has lost an icon today. John was more than just the creator of Dreamworld, he was the inventor of multiple wildly successful businesses, he was a family man (his grandkids meant the world to him) and he was a kind, giving friend to those who knew him well.

In the case of Dreamworld, John built Dreamworld (family in tow) with his literal bare hands, and despite the naysayers, opened a thriving world of escapism that still exists over four decades later.
